You will be picked up by our driver/guide at your Marrakech accommodation to begin the 4 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes. We will go to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987, across the high Atlas mountains via the 2260 m-high Tizi N'tichka Pass. We will visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a well-known historical structure in Morocco, and have lunch in a nearby restaurant. We'll drive to Ouarzazate city in the afternoon and stop for a snapshot at the Atlas film Studios. And then, we'll stop again in the town center for a stunning view of the Taourirt kasbah, a former defensive residence. You will then pass by Kalaa M'gouna and Boumalne Dades, where you will have dinner and a night's stay at a riad or hotel.
After breakfast in the hotel, we will start our 4 Days Marrakech to Fes desert tour by leaving towards Tinghir, passing via Boumalne Dades and pausing to take in the magnificent vista of the Dades valley. We will thereafter proceed through Imider and Tinghir to the Todra gorges. You will stop several times along the journey to take pictures and to take in the scenery. When you go to Todra Gorges, you can stroll through its confined valleys and take in the breathtaking Canyon beauty. We carry on to Tinjdad in the afternoon after a break for lunch, and from there we travel to Erfoud, a town known for its producers of fossils. Following that, you will continue to the magnificent Erg Chebbi Dunes, popularly known as Merzouga Dunes. When you get to the edge of the sand dunes, prepare for an hour and a half camel trek, so you can take in the sunset while having fun and experiencing something unique. You will head to the camp for an overnight stay in a typical nomad tent or luxury tent while riding the back of your dromedary in silence, with the only sound of the camel's footfall on the sand. Before spending the night in a beautiful desert camp with all the conveniences in the middle of the desert, there will be a great dinner and amusement around the fire (Berber drums).
On the third day of your 4 days desert trip from Marrakech to Fes, we advise you to get up early to soak in the breathtaking sunrise. After eating breakfast, taking a shower, and starting your day. Today is our entire day to go on an off-road excursion through the desert. Merzouga is a lovely desert village encircled by picturesque desert vistas, Oasis, and deserted villages. The seasonal lake of Merzouga known as Dayet Srij, where we can sight some flamingos and other birds with dunes in the background, will be our first destination. The next stop is the village of Khamlia, where the majority are originally from Mali and Sudan. We will stop here to listen to their music and dance, known as Gnawa music. After that, we will head t o Mifis . There are several mineral and fossil mines in this old French town that we shall explore. We will then continue on a short drive to a tiny hill with a panoramic view of the dunes on one side and the Moroccan-Algerian border on the other. Afterwards, we will go on our trek to the nomadic families that live in tents designed after Berber architecture at the base of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. We'll discover their daily activities and lifestyle. We may stop in one of their tents for lunch and share a cup of mint tea. Before heading back to the hotel in Merzouga, we'll stop at a desert oasis. You can stroll to the village or nearby dunes after a brief break to soak in the serene sunset.
We will begin the ultimate day of our 4-day desert trip from Marrakech to Fes after breakfast by traveling via Tafilalet Palm plantation, the largest in Morocco. Along the 20 kilometers of route, you'll notice a ton of palm trees. the road to the Ziz valley, the source of the water used to irrigate this palm grove. Here, we pause and enjoy the spectacular panorama of the valley and the village of Aoufous from a high point. We will stop in the city of Midelt, right in the center of the Atlas Mountains, where you'll have some free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will continue traveling through Azrou's cedar forest, and if we're lucky, we'll come across some Barbary Apes by the side of the road. Our next stop is the city of Ifrane, which is 1630 meters above sea level and located on the Middle Atlas' northwest slope. This city resembles a Swiss town due to its large avenues, excellently clean urban development, outdoor areas, gardens, and architectural style.
